Europe says "NO" to ordinary weekly rest on the truck
They prohibit that the weekly rest of the 45 minimum hours are realized in the truck.
At the end of 2014 a law was established on the driving times and breaks that must be carried out by all the professional drivers of the European Union, in order to obtain a certain quality of life. With fines of up to € 30,000 in case of breach of said law.
Everything has happened, when a carrier company, has justified the stay of the trucker inside the truck, as it was in the cabin therefore was resting and count as hours of rest. A small detail that was on the verge of law.
The General Advocate of the European Court has issued a statement, stating that European Regulation 561/2006 must interpret in the sense that an ordinary weekly rest period can not be performed within the vehicle itself.
